David Anthony Franco, Jr., born September 11, 1965, in El Paso, Texas, was called to Heaven on July 26, 2025, at his residence in Kilgore, Texas, comforted by the presence of his loving wife and children.
Though David worked as a private investigator later in life, much of his career was spent as a truck driver. David proudly owned and operated a semi-truck, a role that reflected his independence and strong work ethic. However, his greatest pride came from being a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather.
David held a deep faith in Christ. Amongst his proudest accomplishments was raising his children, a role he embraced wholeheartedly. He led by example, teaching them to work hard, stay true to themselves, and never be afraid to speak their minds. This dedication to his family was at the core of everything he did. He had a lot of love to give and, more than anything, he wanted that love returned. His passion was evident in everything he did and spoke about, his loyalty to family and strong presence made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
After moving to Kilgore in 2006, David became a cherished part of the community. He found joy in simple pleasures throughout his life, including spending precious moments with his grandchildren and sharing his enthusiasm for cars. His deep passion for cars was especially evident in building hot rods and race trucks, as well as attending car shows. His shop was more than just a place to work. It was a place to connect, where family and friends often gathered. He took pride in sharing his extensive knowledge of automobiles with his children throughout their lives, ensuring that his passion would live on through them.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia Franco; his parents, David and Olivia Franco; his children: daughter Kriston Bornes and her husband Chad, son, David Dillon Franco and his wife Laci, son, Michael Cross and his wife Shannon; his sisters: Denize Santana and her husband Sergio, and Deborah Franco; and his cherished grandchildren: David "Tony" Franco, Zoey Cross, Kadon Williams, Kynlie Williams, Colt Cross, and Kash Franco.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julieta “Lita” Tidrow, and nephew, John Allen Franco.
David's life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas.
