Craig Alan Ballew, I

Craig Alan Ballew I, 61, of Madisonville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2021, He passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

Craig was a graduate of Kilgore High School in 1978, and later graduated with degrees in Physics and Aerospace Engineering from Kilgore College in 1991. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was National Merit Commended. Craig also studied Physics at the University of Tennessee, and was a Vol for life.

Craig was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend. His passions for computers, astronomy, and the Dallas Cowboys were prevalent throughout the entirety of his life. He also enjoyed his time in the Civil Air Patrol. From an early age, Craig was fascinated with computers, which led to him becoming a self-taught computer programmer. His skill-set was shared by few but appreciated by many. In his final months, his family was his strength and spending time with them was treasured dearly.

Craig will be missed by his family, friends, and all who have known him.

He is proceeded in passing by his father James L. Ballew, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Kincaid Ballew of Overton, TX, children Ilsa Ballew of Madisonville, TN, Jane Ballew Reinders and husband Bayden Reinders of Iroquois Falls, ON, and Craig A. Ballew II of Overton, TX, mother Bettye Ballew of Kilgore, TX, brother Jim Ballew of Kilgore, TX, aunt Glenda Vardeman and husband Billy Ray Vardeman of Hubbard, TX, and a granddaughter due in June of 2022. Craig is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 2:00pm at Salem Cemetery near Wright City, Texas. Please meet at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore at 1pm for the funeral procession.
