Cleve "PaPa"
Biggs
May 8, 1941 — Sep 3, 2026
Big Sandy
Cleve “PaPa” Biggs passed away at home on September 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 8, 1941, he lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, and a deep love for his family.
A Godly man who loved the Lord, Cleve was known as someone who always saw the good in people. He was a longtime faithful member of Danville United Methodist Church. That steady spirit shaped the way he lived and the way he was remembered by those who knew him best. He served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and later built a career through dedicated work as a pumper for BP and on the assembly line for Fleetwood before retiring. He was also a graduate of Sam Houston State University.
Cleve found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He enjoyed family gatherings and treasured the time spent with those he loved. He liked playing horseshoes and pitching washers, and he took pride in woodworking. He also enjoyed feeding the birds while chasing the squirrels away, a small daily ritual that reflected his lively and warm nature. Another of his lasting interests was working on and restoring antique cars, a pastime that spoke to both his skill and patience.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Biggs; by his parents, Joe Thomas Biggs and Harriet Mooneyham Biggs; and by his brothers, Jere Joe Biggs and Charles Mack Biggs.
Cleve’s memory will be cherished by his family, who were a central part of his life. He is survived by his son, Terry Roach wife Raquel of Longview; his daughters, Sonja Dassonville of Big Sandy and Kay Lynn Newbill of Lake Cherokee; and his sister, Carol Kinney. He also leaves behind grandchildren Austin Roach and his wife Blayne of Big Sandy; Brad Dassonville and his wife Lynzi of New Diana; and Brittney Daniel and her husband Jace of Gilmer. His legacy continues as well in his great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Gibson, Natalee Dassonville, and Aubree Roach, each of whom brought added joy to his life. Cleve is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family.
A Celebration of Life for Cleve will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 9, 2026, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Reverend Dick Dobbins officiating.
Cleve will be remembered for his faithful heart, his kindness, his love of family, and the goodness he chose to see in others. His life leaves behind a lasting example of devotion, character, and love.
