Cindy Lacy Scarbrough
Cynthia Gail Lacy was the third born child of Charles Ray Lacy and Barbara Ann Maloney Lacy. She was born on December 14, 1957, in Gainesville, Texas. She stepped into eternity on October 26, 2021, at 9:25 PM in a Waxahachie, Texas, of Covid. Cindy had gone to a festival with a dear friend and became ill on the trip. She was admitted to the hospital in Waxahachie on Saturday and never returned home.
Cindy grew up in Kilgore, graduating in 1976. She graduated from North Texas University, Denton, in 1979, after only three years, with a degree in accounting, working mostly in the oil and gas industry, for the rest of her life. She lived in Tyler.
Cindy loved working with children in her church, Grace Baptist Church, In Tyler. She was CASA volunteer, again working with children who need an advocate. Cindy discovered a love for painting and enjoyed her newfound talent. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Charles Ray Lacy, in 1998. She is survived by her mom, Barbara Ann Lacy, of Longview, her brother Steve Lacy (Cathy) of Lake Cherokee, two sisters, Nancy Gilstrap (Bob) of Longview and Teri Lacy of Tyler, four nephews, and one niece, several great nieces, and nephews. She also left several close friends.
Services will be Saturday, October 30, at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00 am, until services at 11:00 am, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Dr. Dan Cozart officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to CASA of Tyler, or to Grace Baptist Church, Tyler, Texas.
