Charlene Campbell passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on October 5, 1942, in Savannah, Georgia, Charlene lived a life filled with love, learning, service, and devotion to her family.

Charlene graduated from Avery High School in 1961 and continued her education at Sam Houston State University, where she earned a degree in speech pathology. Her education reflected her lifelong appreciation for communication, learning, and helping others.

Charlene was married to Jim Campbell, whom she deeply adored, for over 40 years. She had a genuinely caring heart and devoted herself to supporting the people she loved. She served as the primary caregiver for both her mother and her husband, Jim, during the final stages of their lives. Her dedication to their care was a true reflection of her compassion, loyalty, and selfless love.

Charlene was a devoted mother and a proud, loving grandmother who treasured the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her son, Taylor Campbell of Houston, and his wife, Mari; her beloved grandchildren, Alex, Avery, and Taylor Campbell; her brother, Jack Titus, and his wife, Nancy; and their children, Savannah and Clara.

An avid reader, Charlene found great joy in a good book. She also loved gardening and took pleasure in nurturing beautiful things. As an active member of her sorority, she especially enjoyed participating in philanthropic activities and giving back to others.

Charlene will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, generosity, devotion to family, and unmistakably feisty spirit. She loved deeply, spoke her mind, and brought strength and personality wherever she went. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her husband and grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

Charlene’s love, lively spirit, and lasting influence will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 1:30-2:30 pm Thursday, October 1, 2026, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at Danville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Charlene’s memory to Rahab’s Retreat and Ranch in Kilgore or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
