Carolyn Jean Wright, born on February 19, 1939, in Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Kilgore, Texas. She was under hospice care in the memory care unit at Arbor Grace Nursing Home. A special thanks to Kindful Hospice and Josie, her aid and Hanna, her nurse for providing exceptional care. Those two ladies went above and beyond to care for Carolyn. Raised as a single child in Palmer, TX. She was blessed with a Godly mother who devoted her life to serving the Lord. Faithful members of Fundamental Baptist Church where Carolyn made a profession of faith at a young age. A self-taught pianist. Carolyn often played during church services. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Help raise five knuckle head boys in Overton, TX with her former husband Johnny Wright. Their yard became a Mustang football & baseball field. She became a gifted seamstress making needed clothes for her children and beautiful dolls for her grandchildren. Carolyn was an excellent cook who specialized in a good chicken fried steak. Some of her boy’s childhood friends called their home Carolyn’s Country Kitchen. All her boys would testify that they wouldn’t be the person they are today without the good home provided by Carolyn & Johnny! Carolyn was known to all for her kindness and love.
Carolyn leaves behind her beloved family, including her son, Neil Brazier and his wife Jan, residing in Kilgore, and her son, Marcus Wright and wife Erica of Arp. Stepson Marty Wright of Winnfield, LA. Stepson Rodney Wright of Marshall, She cherished her grandchildren, Dana Bates and her husband Shawn of Houston, Rochelle Wiggins Jones and her husband Sammy of Harleton, Cheneil Torbert and her husband Matthew of Tyler, Blake Brazier of Corpus Christi, and Blane Brazier and his wife Leslie of Rowlett, Mark & Felicity Wright, “Little” Johnny Wright, Austin, Dahlie of Arp. Samantha and Michael of Temple, Sara of Tyler, Amber & Johnny Wade of McKinny, Nathaniel from Norman, Ok. Carolyn was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who filled her life with joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Tyler and Ruby R Tyler; daughter, Pam Brazier, and her son, Marvin D. Brazier.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. This will be followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Wilkerson officiating. Private family burial will follow at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
