Mrs. Lee went home to be the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Billie was born on July 5, 1925, in Mexia, to W.A. and Jo Alice Spivey. She graduated from Gladewater High School and Kilgore College. Billie went to work in the library at Kilgore College until her retirement following 30 years of employment.
Billie’s faith was the center of and most important aspect of her life. She was a long-time member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Kilgore, teaching Sunday School and serving in any possible way that she could until her health declined. She passed this love for Jesus and The Bible down to her family and friends.
Along with her faith, her family brought her strength and joy. Billie was an extraordinary cook and her fried chicken, steak and gravy, roast with potatoes and carrots and her fried fish are among her family’s favorites. She loved to sew, go fishing and had a green thumb, she could grow anything. However, her favorite thing to do was to go shopping. Billie was always dressed to the nines from head to toe, and not a hair out of place. Always a classy lady. She will be greatly missed by all who have been touched by her life.
Billie was reunited with her parents W.A and Jo Alice Spivey, husband, Foy L. Lee, brothers Delton, David and Arville Spivey, as well as her twin sister Jody Cheatham.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mac Lee and his wife Dianne of Kilgore, Gene Lee and his wife Kay of Jefferson; grandchildren, Matthew Lee and his wife Josie of Longview, Erin Conrad and her husband Frank of Pittsburg, Gena French and her husband Rex of Jefferson, Gered Lee and his wife Joni of Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Kieran Lee, Heaven Tillery, Brian Lee, Katelyn Lee, Chantelle Fraser, Ireland Lee, Katlyn French, Garrett French, Gage Lee, Jaci Lee; great-great grandchild, Rhyder Tillery.
