BETTY FAYE PITTMAN

Services for Betty Faye Pittman, 88 of Kilgore will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Highland Park Assembly of God with Dale Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the Langley Cemetery in Beckville, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on, Monday, July 26, 2021, from 5 until 7 in the evening. Betty returned to the arms of Jesus on Friday, July 24, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Pittman was born on October 18, 1932, in Center to the late Samuel G. Hooper, and Bonnie F. Ellis. Betty was a proud Longview Lobo and graduated in the class of 1950. She continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, and especially making her famous chocolate fudge. Betty reconnected with her high school sweetheart and love of her life Gene Pittman, and they married on May 6, 2000. They faithfully attended Highland Park Assembly of God Church in Kilgore. Betty was a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. Mrs. Pittman is a published author, her book, “He was Always There”, was published in June of 2020. Betty was very creative and enjoyed sewing, crafting, and woodwork. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Betty was reunited with her parents, siblings, Della Hooper, Jackie Hooper, Charlie Hooper, Sammie Hooper, Sandra McKay, Lynn Hooper, and grandson, Ryan Lewis.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gene Pittman; children, Theresa Welch and her husband Ernie, Denise Llewellyn and her husband Dave Tober, Michael Llewellyn and wife Tamara; brother, Rev. Tommy Brasher; grandchildren, Emily Howard, Cynthia Welch, Haleigh Tober, Scotty Campbell, and four great-grandchildren.
