Wilton Jones

Services for Wilton Ira Jones, 85, of Kilgore will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Kilgore. Burial will follow at the Travis Cemetery in Rosebud, TX under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, April 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 401 Martin, Kilgore.

Mr. Jones passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the home he shared with his wife, Wilma Agnew Jones. Wilton and Wilma were married October 2, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore. Wilton was born on July 14, 1933 in Kilgore to Wilton Ira Jones, Sr. and Thelma Chatham Jones. He had a 33-year career with Shell Oil Company. Most of his career was spent in senior management positions. He retired in 1988 as Manager Financial Analysis for Shell Chemical Company.
Wilton was a 1951 graduate of Kilgore High School. He graduated June 5, 1955 from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He also attended Rice University and The University of Houston. While at The University of Texas, he served as President of Theta Xi Fraternity, and was a member of the honorary accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; children, Terry Lee Richards of York, PA, David Alan Jones and wife Amy of Dallas, and Andrew Paul Jones of Tyler; stepchildren, Debra Johnson of Mesquite, Stephen Hickey and wife Beth of Garland, and Sherri Leverett of Mesquite; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Dee Ann Jones, his second wife of seven years, Jerry Ann Jones, his sisters Norma Ruth Torrence and Thelma Lois Cooper; and his grandson Niles Thomas Richards.

In his most recent years, he enjoyed pursuing multiple hobbies with his wife, Wilma, and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild at their home in Kilgore.
