Virginia Evelyn Fitch

Private Graveside services for Virginia Evelyn Fitch, 88 of Kilgore are scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2020 at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Yoakum, Texas with Father Matt Huehlefeld officiating. Private Rosary will be recited and live streamed via Facebook Live on the Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore Facebook page at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2020. Mrs. Fitch passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 in Tyler, Texas.

Virginia was born on June 10, 1931 in Yoakum, Texas to the late Joseph A. Lauer and Veronica (Albrecht) Lauer. Virginia met and married Travis Lloyd Fitch, Sr. on January 10, 1949. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy. Virginia loved doing volunteer work for the church, sewing and making quilts and being with her family. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, swinging on her back porch, watching her cows and counting the baby calves. There was never a time that she wasn’t there to lend a hand to someone in need. Virginia was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Fitch, Sr.; sons, Travis Fitch, Jr. and Russell Andrew Fitch and grandson, Robert Glen Fitch, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Robert Glen Fitch, Sr. of Kilgore; daughters, Diana Holmes and husband Herman of Winona, Texas, Melissa Dow and husband Eddie of Tyler; grandchildren, Carrie Evans, Scott Holmes, Steve Holmes, Kristen Carver, Jason Fitch, Amanda Wolfe, Russell Fitch II and Travis Fitch and great grandchildren as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.
