Thomas Earl Overman, Sr.

Thomas Earl Overman, Sr., 66, of Kilgore, completed his earthly journey on Thursday, January 5, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Rev. Jerry Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.

Thomas was born in Houston to Winfred Earl and Olive Overman, on June 7, 1956. He was a member of the Kilgore High School Class of 1974. Thomas worked for Haliburton for about 5 years prior to opening Overman Tree Service. He owned and operated the tree service until his retirement after 40 years. Thomas was a faithful, active and long-time member of Laird Hill Baptist Church.

When Thomas was not working, he enjoyed going fishing for catfish. He also loved to deer hunt and spend time with the guys at the deer lease. Thomas was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan who remained loyal whether they won or lost. His family, especially his grandchildren, were the source of his strength and joy. Thomas spent many times with his family telling awesome stories and making many loving and happy memories.

Thomas was reunited with his parents, sister, Charlene Venable and nephew Wesley Sessions.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kelly Overman, Thomas Earl Overman, Jr., David Overman and his wife Heather all of Kilgore; grandchildren, Davion George, Brookelyn Overman, Adalyn Worden, Rylan Overman; siblings, Vivian Sessions of Henderson, Richard Overman and his wife Joann of Kilgore. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.
