Sybil Louise "Granny" Vickers Shelley

April 18, 1939 — August 11, 2020

Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Louise “Granny” Vickers Shelley, 81, of Kilgore will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Wright officiating. Burial will follow at the Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Shelley passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
Sybil was born on April 18, 1939, in Rodessa, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late J.W. and Willow Mae Wiggins. She retired from the United States Postal Service and worked as a seamstress for many years. Sybil enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with her senior citizens group. She was a charter member of Victory Road Baptist Church. She got great joy from time spent with her family.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Marion LaVert “Bert” Shelley of Kilgore; children, Sharon Griffith and husband Bob of Henderson, Allan Collins and wife Lisa of Kilgore, and Robin Ruffo and husband Eric of San Antonio; siblings, Daniel Wiggins and wife Doris of New, London, Judy Ledett of La Rose, LA, Belinda Doyle and husband, Robby of Glenmora, LA, Linda Orgeron and husband Gary of La Rose, LA, Kathern Terrebonne and husband Tilman of Galliano, LA, Chris Dardar of Galliano, LA; David Hotz and wife Linda of New Braunfels, TX., and Randy Hotz of Rockport, TX.; brother-in-law, Wallace Arceneaux; grandchildren, Misty(Richard), Michael(Amy), Dana, Mark(Timberly), Alexandra(Brian), Tara, Samantha(Terry), and Jeremy; great grandchildren, Brendon(Tammie), Kaylee(Daniel), Adele, Benton, Faren, Steven, Levi, Elijah, Addilyn, Tristyn, Tate, Cayson, Dean, Taylor, Gina, and Cheyenne; great-great grandchildren, Caitlin, Kaleb, A’Braylen, Oaklyn, Cailer, Cade, Mary, and Jackson; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Annie Wiggins; baby son, Randal Earl Collins; sister, Robbie Arceneaux; brother, Tony Hotz, Jr.
The family would like to say thanks to the staff at Hospice Plus and a special thanks to Lisa Rayburn for all the love and care they gave to Granny.
