Graveside services for Mr. Steve “Buddy” Attaway, 74, of Kilgore will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 10 A.M. at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Chaplin Wayne Norvell officiating. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mr. Attaway passed away on Thursday at his home in Kilgore.

Steve was born on July 19, 1948, in Longview, Texas. He was the son of the late Leo “Buddy” and Gladys Attaway. Steve enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing. He was well known as quite a jokester around his family. He loved attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed his family and spending time with them gave him his greatest joy. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nita Kay Attaway in 2021; sister, Gay Lastrapes.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Barbara Attaway of Kilgore; son, Buddy Attaway and wife Heather of Troup; grandchildren, Colton Baker and wife Lisa of Gladewater, Blake Attaway of Troup, Bryce Attaway and wife Whitley of Longview, Blaine Attaway of Troup, and Hailey Attaway of Troup; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Baker and Beau Attaway; sisters, Joy Cleveland and Gloria Hardy both of Kilgore; several nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
