Sharon Brantley

Memorial services for Sharon Brantley, 77 of Kilgore will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Mrs. Brantley passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Longview.

She was born on June 24, 1944 in Lillie, Louisiana to Guyton and Jimmie Colvard. Sharon graduated from Logansport High School in 1962. Shortly after graduating she married a handsome sailor, Robert Brantley, where she became a Navy wife and mother of two children. She has resided in Kilgore since 1977 and worked as a bank teller for Citizens Bank for over 20 years prior to moving to Pittsburg, Texas in 1999 due to her medical retirement. Sharon enjoyed all of her pets but especially adored her cats. She was always socializing and making friends. Sharon kept an incredible positive outlook on life even during her most trying times as the stroke and illnesses took their toll on her. No matter the circumstances she would answer “Fine and Dandy.” Sharon was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed greatly, but we take comfort in knowing she now resides in her Heavenly home.

She is preceded in death by her parents Guyton Colvard, Robert Rupe and Jimmie Rupe and husband, Robert Brantley.

Sharon is survived by her two children, Robert Brantley of Kilgore; Jimi Green and husband Joe of Marshall; grandchildren, Lindsey and Dylan Corpier of Fort Polk, Louisiana, Alex Brantley of Tyler, John and Kelli Green of College Station, Madison Brantley of Kilgore and Kasey and Chandler Robertson of Lake Ozark, Missouri; brother, Robert Rupe, Jr. and wife Carol of Katy, Texas; nine great grandchildren and other loving family members.
