Sam A. Mallett

Services for Mr. Sam Arthur Mallett, 85, of Kilgore will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Kilgore, Texas with Reverend Roger Hoffpowier officiating. Interment will follow at Kilgore Cemetery. Mr. Mallett passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

Sam was born on July 13, 1933 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Robert Carl Mallett and Nellie Maurine Mallett. Mr. Mallett was a graduate of Kilgore High School in 1951 and attended Kilgore College and Business College of Dallas. Sam served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Kilgore Ceramics where he retired after 40 years of employment. Sam enjoyed playing pool, Nascar, Classic Cars and was a former member of Kilgore Bowling Association and numerous bowling leagues. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Eva Scharlene Mallett of Kilgore; his son Sam Andrew Mallett of Kilgore, daughters, Tracy Edens, Terri Stewart and husband Kevin of Kilgore, Cathy East, Carolyn Flores and Carla Howell all of Kilgore; and numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins and other loving family members.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
