Russell Alan Miller

Services for Russell Miller, 57, of Kilgore will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Pirtle United Methodist Church with Reverend Dudley J. Plaisance officiating. Mr. Miller passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his residence.

He was born January 28, 1962 in Sherman, Texas and was raised in Kilgore where he was 1980 Kilgore High School graduate. Russell attended Petroleum Tech and worked in the oil and natural gas field throughout his life. Mr. Miller retired from Miller Energy Inc. where he worked as Operations Manager for many years. Russell attended Pirtle United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and gardening. Russell loved to travel to Alaska with his wife and family and enjoyed taking joy rides with his wife and faithful dog Juneau on their time off. He loved to fix things for friends, passing knowledge to anyone who needed it and debate about everything. Russell was a loving and caring husband, son, brother and uncle who will be missed by all that knew him.

Russell is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jo Miller.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 26 years, Holly Miller of Kilgore; brother, Robert Miller and wife Tess of Bossier City, Louisiana; father, Ray Miller of Kilgore; mother-in-law, Lorraine Connors of Coconut Creek, Florida; father-in-law, Ben Connors of Arcadia, Florida; nephews, Cameron Ray Miller of Bossier City, Joseph Normand of Bossier City, Maureen and Ken Beverly of Boynton Beach, Florida; nieces, Chris Dunn of Shreveport, Tiffany Connors of Boynton Beach, Florida, Madeline Connors of Sarasota, Florida and Devon Connors of Sarasota, Florida; great nieces, Taya and Ivy Hyder of Boynton Beach Florida and great nephew, Triston Hyder of Boynton Beach, Florida.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Friday evening between six and seven-thirty p.m.
