Richard Lynn Rodgers

Services for Rick Rodgers, 69, of Gladewater, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Reverend Jim Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Mr. Rodgers completed his earthly journey on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Longview.

Rick was born on May 28, 1952, in San Antonio to Frank and Mildred Rodgers. He had one brother and two sisters who he shared his childhood with. He graduated High School from East Central Highschool in 1970, in San Antonio. He married the love of his life Deborah on April 27, 1974. They shared forty-seven years of marriage together, and three children. He was a devoted Christian and spent much of his time in church, doing missionary work, teaching Sunday school, and guiding the Royal Rangers. Rick enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, woodwork, and fly-fishing. He even made his own fly-fishing lures. He was also fluent in Spanish and played the guitar. Rick loved to laugh and make others laugh by cracking jokes. He was a true joy to be around and was loved by all who knew him. Rick will be greatly missed by his friends and loving family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Rodgers of Gladewater, children, Timothy Alan Rodgers and wife Karen of Newport, Tennessee, Paul Anthony Rodgers and wife Clair of Darwin, Australia, Rachel Lynette Rodgers and James Nelson of Lexington, Kentucky, grandchildren, Noah, Elleah, Caleb, Summer, and Atticus.

Richard was reunited with his siblings, Troy Rodgers, Jean James, Beaverly Bremer, and loving parents.
