Cremation arrangements for Richard Harold “Chip” Wageman, 69, of Overton are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Richard passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in Tyler, Texas after a long illness into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Richard was a 1970 graduate of Kilgore High School. He attended UT Arlington and North Texas State University. Richard spent a majority of his working life as a maintenance supervisor in the apartment industry and more recently he worked for Lowe’s in Henderson. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in conjunction with Thrivent helping build homes in Costa Rica and El Salvador. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler where he served as an usher and was on the properties board. Richard was a dedicated Christian and spent many years serving the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Barry Wageman and wife Norma, sister Cindy Harantcavage and husband Alex, nephews, Jeff Wageman and wife Jen, Brad Wageman, and Joseph Wageman and wife Ivonne, great-nephews and nieces, Avery, Mason, Kiana, Michael, and Leah.

Richard is preceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Joan Wageman, and a nephew, Andrew Wageman.
