Reverend Harry G. Lagrone

Services for Reverend Harry G. LaGrone, 94 of Longview will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Brother Steve Latham officiating. Burial will follow at the Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Rev. LaGrone passed away on Thursday in Longview.

Harry was born on January 15, 1927, in Garrett, Texas. He was the son of the late George Michael and Forrest Crowder LaGrone. Harry attended grade school in Dallas and graduated high school from Dallas Sunset High School. After graduation from high school Harry enlisted in the United States Navy. He attended Texas Tech University, graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and later graduate from Lamar University in Beaumont with a degree in engineering. Reverend LaGrone was a longtime Baptist minister, serving in several churches. He was currently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Kilgore. He was an avid pilot, enjoyed golf and after retirement he and his wife enjoyed doing craft work.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Oliva C “Tootsie” LaGrone of Longview; children, Neysa Karlynn Robertson of Lindale, Kerry LaGrone and wife Janice of Tomball, Kimberly Ann Brown of College Station; sister, Neysa Blagg of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael Krist LaGrone.
