Mike Smithey

Graveside services for Mike Smithey, 67, of Longview will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Brother Jason Taylor officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. He passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, in Longview.

Mike was born on September 11, 1954 in Corsicana, Texas to the late James Howard Smithey and Jonnie Perkins. Mr. Smithey worked for Allied waste as equipment operator for over 18 years. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Tatum in 2016; brother, Danny Howard Smithey.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Brittany Smithey of Mississippi; son, James Nicholas Smithey of Florida; sister, Linda Hughes and husband Ronald of Longview; nephew, Blake Hughes of Henderson; nieces, Shannon Hughes of Arlington, Wendy Dawn Smith of Grapevine and Amy Nicole Taliaferro of Price, Texas and other loving family members.
