A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from three until four at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Jane Farrar, age 81, passed from this life into the hands of her Eternal Father on the evening of August 12th, 2023. During her final days, she was surrounded, loved, and cared for by her family all while being lifted up in the loving prayers of countless many.
Jane was born in Corsicana, TX to George R. Moon and Dorothy C. Moon on June 3rd, 1942. She was the oldest daughter of two, and loving sister to her younger sibling Betty.
Jane attended Bellaire High School in Houston followed by the University of Arizona in Tucson. She pursued a career as a dental hygienist, serving in that profession for well over 30 years.
Upon completion of her education, Jane met and married Douglas E. Farrar and went on to become a mother to three children, Clint, Amy, and Bryan.
Jane had a genuine love for her Lord and for people as evidenced by remaining active in her church and the countless relationships she fostered over her lifetime. Jane had many varied interests to include travel and adventure. She loved to take road trips with family, marveling at God’s creation and truly taking time to “smell the roses”. Jane loved gardening and spent countless hours attending to her plants and flowers. She was an avid reader and consumed novels one after the other. Her greatest attributes, however, were rooted in her love for others. She was a gentle soul- the most loving, accepting, kind, caring, and selfless person one could hope to meet. Her infectious smile and positive outlook were a true joy too experience. For those of us who knew her, she has left an immeasurable and lasting imprint on our hearts. May her legacy of loving others and finding joy in a life well lived be an inspiration to us all.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Betty Duteau; son Clint Farrar and wife Amanda; daughter Amy Martin and husband Brad; son Bryan Farrar; grandchildren Dustin Reddock and wife Ashley, Sadie Andrews and husband Adam, Marion Farrar, Walker Farrar, and Dylan Reddock; great-grandchildren Cason Hadley, Cameron Andrews, Parker Andrews, and Brighton Reddock Gray; nieces Jennifer Grammar and Joanne Deans; along with numerous other loving friends and family members.
