Marie Louise Rains

Graveside services for Marie Louise Rains, 73, of Longview will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore. A family visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 4-6pm at Rader Funeral Home. Marie passed away on September 3, 2020 in Longview.

Marie Louis Rohm was born in Metairie, LA. January 10, 1947. She graduated from Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, LA. She then married George Rains and eventually moved to East Texas to raise their four children. Marie spent over 25 years working at Good Shepherd Medical Center and upon retirement was Communications Manager.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband George Rains. She is survived by her four children, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, 2 brothers and her sister.

She was such a beautiful person. Strong, bold, direct, and always (I mean always) loving. She practiced both "tender hearted love" as well as "tough love". Marie did not know how to quit or give up, whether on people, or situations in life.

She also loved her four legged companions, best buds named Rocky, who was first. Duke (Dookie) second, and last but not least, Jake. Thank you for everything Mom, Mawmaw, Bitsy, and Marie. We will always love you!
