Services for Margaret Laverne Lee Spruill. 70 of Kilgore will be held Friday, December 23, 2022, at one o’clock in the afternoon at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. A private burial will immediately follow at Danville cemetery. Margaret completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in Kilgore surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born on September 23, 1952, in Kilgore, Texas to Clinton Calvin Lee and Roxie Elizabeth Goff. She attended Kilgore Independent School District during her adolescence. She married the love of her life George Melvin Spruill, Jr. (Butch) in 1969. They spend fifty-three joyful years together and shared countless unforgettable memories. Mrs. Spruill was a devoted Christian. She and her husband George spread the gospel every chance they received. They were charter members of The Church on The Way. Margaret adored spending time with her family, who affectionately called her “Big Momma.” Her family was her source of strength and happiness. Margaret’s hobbies included fishing, reading and bird watching. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband George Melvin Spruill Jr., (Butch) of Kilgore, sisters, Doris Bullock and husband Clinton Bullock of Longview, Brenda Russell and husband Billy Russell of Kilgore, Beth Haskins and husband Frank Haskins of Longview, sister-in-law Mary Birdsong and husband Bobby Birdsong of Kilgore, brother-in-law Danny Jo Spruill and wife Debbie Spruill of Ore City, bonus children Donnie Lee, Jamey Romans and wife Janie Romans of Kilgore and James Roman II of Louisiana, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

Margaret was reunited with her parents Clinton and Roxie Lee, sister Carolyn Thrash, and brother Donald Lee.
