Madeline Roberta Spencer Sheldon

Funeral services for Madeline Roberta Spencer Sheldon will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 2pm at Rader Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held prior to the services from 1pm to 2pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Madeline Roberta Spencer Sheldon, born the eldest of three daughters to Daniel and Laurame (Bray) Spencer in Willow Springs, Missouri on November 2, 1926, passed peacefully into the presence of The Lord on September 24, 2020.
Madeline, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and member of Friendship Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, gardening, birding, reading, crossword puzzles, cooking and canning. She will be most remembered for her love of nature, her quick wit, her meticulous handiwork, whether sewing, knitting, needlepoint, crafting, sketching or painting, as well as her involvement in Bluebirds, PTA, LGA, Order of the Eastern Star, and Social Order of the Beauceant, where she made lasting impressions and many lifelong friends.

Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Gloria McCormick and Dana Spencer, nieces, Debbie McCormick and Carrie Majors, nephew, Robert McCormick, Jr. and sons-in-law, Jerry Phillips and Billy Morse.

She is survived by her husband, James Sheldon, daughters, Lynne Phillips and Laura (Phillip) Hudman, step-children, Dannie (Debra) Fason, Lannie (Karen) Fason, Linda (Jerry) Halbrook, Mary Morse and Jim (Melissa) Sheldon, grandchildren, Christine Webb, Ruth (Buddy) Wright, Zach (Kayne) Mays, Mary (Tyler) Mustin, and many more grand, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mary Morse and a handful of caregivers at Arbor Grace that were tirelessly devoted to her quality care over the last four years.
