Lowell Venice Ogle

July 1, 1932 — April 11, 2021

Services for Lowell Venice Ogle will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home at two o’clock in the afternoon.
Lowell Venice Ogle also known as Grandpa, and Backporch Dancing Grandpa was born on June 19, 1932 in Goodwater, Alabama. Lowell’s parents were Robert Ogle and Mary Elizabeth Hazel Ogle, who loved him dearly. He was the youngest of a large family of children, who were sharecroppers. They each worked very hard to contribute to the family welfare. Lowell attended school while growing up in Goodwater, Alabama.
Lowell joined the U.S. Air Force at age nineteen and served for eight years. While serving his country he was stationed in Korea during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1960, and then moved back to his home state of Alabama. This is where he met the love of his life Glendean Fields. She was a senior at Childersburg High School at this time, and he was determined to make her his wife.
Lowell succeeded and they were married on July 18, 1961. They began their life together in Decatur, Georgia, where their first child was born on July 4, 1963. Their first-born child was named Tonet Elizabeth Ogle. They later moved back to Alabama and lived in Birmingham. This is where they had their son, Junior on October 27, 1964.
Lowell loved to play golf! When his son visited, they would play every day. He and Glendean also played three times a week for years before she returned to work. Lowell excelled at golf and accomplished a hole-in-one at Cahaba Falls Country Club in Centerville, Alabama. Although most Golfers strive to have just one in all their years of playing, he didn’t stop there, he added two hole-in-ones to this record at Longview Country Club. Even if others did not believe it or were jealous, he humbly took these successes and never bragged. Although Glendean sure did, she told everyone!
Lowell had very strong religious beliefs, he was a devoted Christian. He and Glendean would often discuss how they looked forward to resurrection, when they die eventually being reunited, in a world without problems like this one. They were thankful of this provision supplied by God. Glendean is taking comfort in this currently.
Lowell loved all his family immensely, including Glendean’s family which he considered his own. He loved his numerous friends he made through his years. Including but not limited to Jackie and Vicki, Lou Anne and Randy, Josh and Lindsey, Lee and Meghan, Tobie and Brandy, Sheila, Jenn and the many other musicians he enjoyed so much.
Lowell Venice Ogle ended his beautiful life on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert Ogle and Mary Elizabeth Hazel Ogle, several brother and sisters, and his daughter Tonet Elizabeth Ogle Martin, whom passed away in October of 2011.
Left to carry on Lowell’s memory are his wife, Glendean Ogle, their son, Lowell V. Ogle, Junior (wife Erica) grandchildren; Cassie Ogle Donworth (husband Ross), Tamathy Joy Martin, Lowell V. Ogle III, Elizabeth Martin Redic (husband Chris Redic), Bree Ogle, Abby Ogle, Great Grandchildren; Devyn Holmes, Gavyn Holmes, Havyn Boring, Gracelynn Boring, Christina Lynn Lumley, Jayson Scott Lumley, and Kade Michael Redic.
