Roger Hoffpowier officiating. Mrs. Fitzgerald completed her earthly journey and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Jimmie was born on July 2, 1930, in Olney to Robert S. and Bennie Kirby. She attended and graduated from Kilgore High School in 1948. She met and married the love of her life, J.W. Fitzgerald in 1949 and they spent the next 62 years making many loving and happy memories. Jimmie owned several businesses and worked outside of the home on occasion. However, her primary career was being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her family, especially her grandchildren were the source of her strength and spending time with them was when she was happiest. Jimmie was a long-time member of Trinity Assembly of God church in Kilgore. When she was not spoiling her grandchildren, she enjoyed painting, shopping and playing games especially bridge. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she has touched.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kirby Fitzgerald and his wife Linda of Kilgore, Jerry Wayne Fitzgerald and his wife Teresa of Boerne, Melissa Fitzgerald Briscoe and her husband Zack of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Matthew Fitzgerald, Sadie Fitzgerald Catron and her husband Dave, Robert Fitzgerald, Kenneth Fitzgerald, Drake Briscoe, Madeline Briscoe Hamberg and her husband Mason and Winnie Kate Briscoe. Also, left to carry on her legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, church family, friends and other loving family members.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.W. Fitzgerald, sons Kenneth Fitzgerald, Jay Scott Fitzgerald, sisters Naomi Kirby, Bobbie Smith Kirby and brother Ray Ayers.
Memorials may be made in her name to the SPCA of East Texas and Hospice of East Texas.
