Jeannine Whatley

March 6, 1939 — March 14, 2021

Jeannine Whatley, 82, of Kilgore was born to H.G. Hines and Nell Rose Bechtold Hines on March 6, 1939 in Marshall, Texas and passed away on March 14, 2021 in Longview. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Brandon Cochran Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with visitation held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Wendell Clay Whatley and her husband, William Darrell Whatley.

Jeannine graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1957, where she was a member of the Drill Team her senior year. She and her husband operated the Harris Street Snow Cone Stand for 27 years, where they sold snow cones, candy, soft drinks, pickles and at one even had a putt-putt golf course. They made many friends there who they had good laughs with over the years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary L. Huffman of Kilgore; daughter, Sharrell Whatley Smith of Oklahoma; sons, Scott Whatley of Florida and Steve Whatley of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jessica Bryant, C.J. Whatley, Morgan Whatley, Joseph Whatley, David Whatley, Angela Whatley, Brian Webb, Kimberly Webb, Amy Webb, Christopher Webb, Latisha Whatley, and Holly Whatley; great-grandchildren, Sydney Allen, Jagger Bryant, Henley Bryant, and Wendell Jace Whatley.
