James Michael "Mitch" Evans

Funeral services for Mr. James Michael “Mitch” Evans, 56, of Kilgore will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Webber officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Longview. Mr. Evans passed away on Friday, May 24.

Mitch was born January 7, 1963 in Longview. He was the son of the late Bill “Big Bill” Evans and Peggy Sue Hudspeth Davis. Mr. Evans had lived most of is life in the Kilgore/Longview area. Mitch was a self-employed painting contractor and attended the Faith Baptist Church in Longview.

Mr. Evans is survived by his children, Corey Evans and wife Tabetha of Longview, Brittany Sell and husband Daniel Wheeler of Kilgore, Chelsey Evans and husband Derrick Williams, and Chase Evans and wife Melinda of Kilgore; brothers and sisters, Rickey Evans and wife Lynn of Longview, Tommy Davis and wife Tara of Longview, Pam Cater and husband Dan of Winona, Bubba Evans and wife Kelley of Harleton, Diana Davis and wife Lori of Longview, Tammy Stotts and husband Carlos Warren of Longview, Cheryl Evans of Hallsville, and Billy Evans, Jr. and wife Sue of Houston; ex-wife, Melissa Evans-Wheat of Kilgore; 15 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his stepfather, Cecil Davis; grandparents, Mattie Estelle Hudspeth and Travis Hudspeth.
