Services for Isabel “Bel” Dickson Waldo, 86, of Kilgore will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at two o’clock at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Reverend Will Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service for visitation. Isabel completed her earthly journey on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Bel was born October 9, 1935 in Lake Charles, LA to Thomas Inches McGregor Dickson and Isabel Anne Kehoe. She was a secretary for Kilgore Ceramics and Exxon Mobile for several years, and also worked at the Kilgore News Herald. While working at the newspaper, she met the love of her life, Wilbur “Dean” Waldo. She and Dean were blessed to have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Bel was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, whether it was soccer, baseball, dance, church activities or anything else that they showed interest in. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore for 50 years. Bel adored country music concerts, painting, sewing and crossword puzzles. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clifton “Tom” Waldo and Karen, of Kilgore; William “Bill” Waldo and Darla, of Dallas. Grandchildren Lacy Waldo Hull and Kolby, of The Woodlands; Shawn Waldo and Kaylee, of Lewisville; Mia Waldo of St Louis, MO; Bethany Perkins and Kevin, of Dallas. Great-grandchildren are Kohen and Ryland Hull of The Woodlands; Gavin and Skylar Gonzalez and Isabella Perkins of Dallas; several nieces, nephews, other family members and loving friends.
Bel was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Thomas Dickson, her sister Dorothy Kunz, and grandson Bryan Thornton.
