Gurt "Brownie" Brown

Funeral Services for Francis Gurvis Brown, 73, of Laird Hill, TX will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 11th, 2022, at Laird Hill Baptist church with Bro Jerry Carroll and Bro Edwin Findley officiating. Visitation will be at 4 pm on Sunday evening at Larid Hill Baptist church.
Mr. Brown was born November 26, 1948, in Natchitoches, LA, and passed away April 6, 2022 in Irving, TX. He was a decorated Navy Seal and served 3 voluntary tours in Vietnam and one in Guam. He was diesel mechanic for years. He was deacon in his church, loved to sing, loved the Lord and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a great PawPaw to his grands, great grands and so many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lea Brown; brothers Huey, George and Roy Brown and a number of beloved Sister and Brother n Laws.
Mr. Brown was survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Brown; daughters Stephanie Tucker, husband John, and Barbara Baker, husband Dewayne; granddaughters Tracie Hampton, husband Mikel, Tiphany Bowers, husband Kyle; Grandson Chris Pruett, wife, Veronica; Great Grandchildren Beau, Gracelynn, Gunner, Miracle, Genna, CJ, Daxton, Laynie, Wynter, Zane and Easton; Bonus Daughter Melissa Morrow and a favorite Aunt Leola Vinzant. He is also survived by a number of Brother and Sister in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Drs and Nurses of Baylor, Scott and White Hospital in Irving, TX, along with all of the Prayers received.
Pallbearers will be David McDonald, Johnny Ray Giddings, Darrell Preston, Punkin Baker, Jiggs Wood and Robert Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Cooley, Kenny Davis, Robert Eli Giddings, James Giddings, Tony Scott, Stephen Modisette, Huey Jr. Brown and Tex Rodgers.
