Grace Lemerle Socia

Visitation Services for Grace Socia, 88, of Kilgore, will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at The First United Pentecostal Church in Orange, Texas. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange, Tx. Mrs. Socia passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 in Kilgore.

Grace was born June 17, 1931 in Laurel, Mississippi to the late H.B. Yelverton and Julia Lucinda Cummings. She was member of Apostolic Christian Fellowship church and was a homemaker. Grace was a lover of guitar, gospel music and poetry and was full of life and could light up a room with her smile and humor. Mrs. Socia was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Turner Avant(1955), Floyd Socia (2012) and her son, Allen Avant(2014); siblings, Burnice Yelverton, Eloise Socia, J. B. Yelverton, Louise Hammond, Toxie Yelverton, Jacqueline Bates, Billie Yelverton and William Yelverton.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Stroman and husband Donny of Kilgore and Sandra Caraway of Kilgore; son, Dale Avant of Conroe, Texas; sister, Glenda Ricks of Bastrop, La and legacy of grandchildren; Rodney Caraway, Judd Caraway, Mendy Coker, Catherine Caraway, Shelby Avant, Keaton Davis, Gene Stroman, Vincent Stroman, David Stroman, Amanda Shiflett, Alicia Stroman, William Stroman and Brittney Stroman; 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.
