Gary Lee Dearmond

October 14, 1946 — November 14, 2019

Graveside services for Gary Lee DeArmond, 73, will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 2pm at the Kilgore City Cemetery. Gary went to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 14. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after bravely fighting a long battle with a debilitating disease.

Gary was born October 14, 1946 in Yale, OK. He married the love of his life Mary Margaret on January 26, 1969. They were married 48 years until her passing in 2017. Gary proudly worked for Mack Trucks for several years before transitioning to car sales in 1982. He worked tirelessly at Martin Chevrolet to support his family, but when he was not working you could find him in a deer stand or bass fishing at one of his favorite lakes. Upon retiring from Martin Chevrolet, he moved to Lake Fork to fulfill his dream job of becoming a fishing guide. While guiding, he also worked for KMOO radio station, where he fulfilled another dream of commentating fishing tournaments.
He was known by all for his integrity, loyalty, honesty and work ethic. Not one to lecture, he quietly led by example. The oldest of 10 children, he was an exceptional big brother, always looking out for his siblings.
Gary was an extraordinary son, brother, father, and husband. He ran his earthly race with perseverance, dignity and grace. His race is now complete and he is reunited with his wife and all those who have gone before him.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Elizabeth, son-in-law William, and grandson, Daman; Brothers and wives: Bill DeArmond, Lonnie and Susan DeArmond, Mike and Sharon DeArmond, Jim and Dee DeArmond, Kevin and Debbie DeArmond, Steve and Trina DeArmond; Sisters and husbands, Kathy and Jim Mann, Tricia and Mike Creasy, Laurie and John Rasor; numerous nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
