Eddy Biggs

Visitation for Mr. Eddy Biggs, 74, of Liberty City will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Eddy passed away at his home on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Eddy was born on February 10, 1947 in Kilgore. He was the son of the late Percy and Estelle Biggs. Eddy worked many years as a contract painter with his mother Estelle. He later went to work for Gregg County Precinct One. Eddy retired from Gregg County in 2012, after 22 years of service. Eddy loved deer hunting, bird hunting and most of all, fishing on the Sabine River. He enjoyed hanging out on the houseboat at the river with all of his friends. Eddy spent many evenings at Jo Doc’s house or John and LeeAnn’s, his lifelong friends (whom he considered his extended family). Eddy enjoyed his time spent with his nephew B.J., teaching him his hunting and fishing skills. He looked forward to going to eat a good steak at the Texas Roadhouse with his daughter Lisa. He was so proud of being Poppa to his grandchildren, Journey and Ashley.

Eddy was known as the most kind-hearted, hard-working and genuine man. He was a man of honor. If someone needed something, he was going to give it to them. He was a true friend to so many. He dearly loved all of his “river friends”. Eddy considered them all his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Estelle, wife, Dianne Biggs, sisters, Barbara Stringer and Margaret Arnold.

Eddy is survived by his daughter, Lisa Biggs Sanders of Longview; son, Brant Biggs of Kilgore; grandchildren, Ashley Sanders of Longview and Journey Glass of Mount Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Regina Glass of Mount Pleasant; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Brenda Biggs of Kilgore; brother-in-law, John DeLaughter of Kilgore; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and many friends. Eddy was very loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

Cremation arrangement will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
