Dr. Charles Garry O'Connor

Services for Dr. Charles Garry O’Connor, 80 of The Woodlands, Texas will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Ten o’clock in the morning at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Entombment will immediately follow the service at Rosewood Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Dr. O’Connor completed his earthly journey on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at his home in The Woodlands, Texas surrounded by his beloved family.

Dr. O’Conner was born on December 11, 1942, to Mrs. Madeline Burly O’Connor and Mr. Charles H. O’Connor in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from Judson High School in Longview, Texas and continued his education at Kilgore College. He transferred to Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his Master’s Degree in Periodontics. Dr. O’Connor worked for Gundersen Clinic in La Crosse, Wisconsin for numerous years before his retirement. He married the love of his life Connie Greely, and they shared many joyful years of marriage together. Dr. O’Connor enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. He was also an avid collector of many different things including comic books. Charles’ drive and intelligence were the first thing others noticed about him. He instilled these same morals within his daughter, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dr. O’Connor will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie O’Connor of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter Dr. Candice Gama of Missoula, Montana; granddaughter Allison Gama of Missoula, Montana; grandson Anthony Gama of Missoula, Montana; sister Marlene Hlavsa and husband Barry of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; brother Dr. Daniel O’Connor of The Woodlands, Texas; sister Debra McCubbin and husband Rex of Kilgore, Texas; brother Darrell O’Connor and wife Cindy of The Woodlands, Texas; sister; Monica O’Connor of Kilgore, Texas; brother Shawn O’Connor and wife Brandy of Lake Livingston, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Madeline and Charles H. O’Connor.
