DOROTHY MARIE HUTCHINSON WORSHAM

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Marie Hutchinson Worsham, 92, formerly of Kilgore will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2 pm, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Rev. Keith Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Worsham completed her earthly journey surrounded by her family in Carthage on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

Dorothy was born on March 4, 1927, in Wheeling, WV, to William and Stella Hutchinson. She graduated from Kilgore High School in 1945. Dorothy was a waitress for many years, working for many restaurants in the Kilgore area including; The Dairy Heart, El Chico, City Café, The Kettle and The Streamliner. She enjoyed serving her many patrons and made many lifelong friends during her career. When she was not busy waiting tables, Dorothy enjoyed going to the riverboat casinos and trying her hand at some luck. Being a true American and the widow of a soldier she never missed going to the VA for the Memorial Day observance until her health failed this past year. Dorothy loved life and people, she would give you her last penny because her heart was so large and loving. Her family, especially her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, were the source of her strength and spending time with them was when she was happiest. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bo White and his wife Judy of Kilgore, George White and his wife Tammy of Leverett’s Chapel, Sylvia Jones and her husband Jimmy of Carthage, Bobby Worsham and his wife Linda of Kilgore; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also, left to carry on her legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers William “Shorty” Hutchinson, George Birmingham Hutchinson, Jack Ray “Popeye” Hutchinson first husband Bill White; second husband Hollis Worsham; children Wayne White, Effie White Hudspeth; grandchildren Jody and Jennifer White and a great-granddaughters Isabelle Grace Jones, Sophia Elaine Worsham.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12:30 pm until 2 pm prior to the service.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Carthage Healthcare Center and Angel Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate care during the final days of her earthly journey.
