Charles Cole

Charles Cole, 83, of Overton, completed his earthly journey on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in Tyler. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2 p.m., in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Kilgore, with Rev. David Hampton and Dr. Glenn Young officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., prior to the service. Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Cole and his final arrangements.

Charles was born on June 7, 1938, in Emory to Ira and Letha Cole. He attended Blossom ISD. Charles dutifully and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as telephone lineman for many years until his retirement from GTE Telephone. He was long-time member of First Baptist Church in Kilgore. Charles always wanted to be rancher and he enjoyed working horses and cows. His hobbies were fishing and camping. Charles loved life and lived life to the fullest. All who knew him knew that he loved to joke and aggravate whenever the opportunity presented itself. Charles’s family was the most important thing to him. Spending time with them was when he was happiest.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Cole of Overton; children, Vickie Burks and husband Leland of Lake Fork, Chuck Cole of Sam Rayburn, Keith Cole and his wife Jana of Huntington; bonus children, Michael Sue Scott of Sarasota, FL, Shannon McKinnon of Marshall; sisters, Barbara Kesler and her husband Terry of Enlow, Debbie Drake of Texarkana; grandchildren, Alecia Martin, Laura Barrett, Cassidy Cole, Patrick Cole, Robbyn Stockton, Dalton Barefield, Zack Hairstow; great-grandchildren, Hayley Wilhite, Kobie Wilhite, Caitlyn Cole, Christian Castro, Lona Cole, Knox Cole, Noa Cole, Wryn Martin, Mack Weaver, Paisley Barefield, Bexlee Barefield. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family members.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and sincerest thanks to Hospice of East Texas as well as his
granddaughters Robbyn Stockton and Cassidy Cole for their loving and compassionate care of Charles during the final days of his
earthly journey.
