BRENT FOWLER

Graveside memorial service honoring Charles Brent Fowler & Jan Ware Fowler of Henderson will be at the Ware Family Cemetery on April 16, 2020. Brent died Monday, January 20, 2020 at his home in Henderson.

Charles Brent Fowler was born October 30, 1947 to Charles Lenard “Charlie Boy” of Longview, TX and Marjorie Sue Bush of Florian, LA. He was a 1966 graduate of Longview High School. He was a Staff Sargent in the Airforce where he faced life head on, some days smiling and some not. But all his life was a rock for his family.

Brent was a Christ centered person, saved at the age of nine, being raised at Valley View Baptist Church of Longview and of recent, Calvary Baptist Church. He loved to fish and work. He also enjoyed trips to the Grand Canyon with grandson’s Justin and his wife Katie and Joshua Fowler fulfilling one of many things on his bucket list. He also enjoyed a trip viewing planes, helicopters and his grandson, Jon Berryhill’s barracks at the Marine Corps Air Station New River Jacksonville, North Carolina while on a trip with his son Craig and his wife Jamie, stopping along the way to see The Ark and The Andy Griffith Show set.

Family man was to be Brent’s legacy in life for sure. He put God and family first for years, hiding his pain until he couldn’t anymore. He loved his daughter-in-law’s like they were his own, down to his last days and minutes they shared his bedside praying and loving on a great man. His sister, Marjan, also by his side loving on her brother. True test of a man is when battles come, who do you lean on. Brent pointed Craig & Heath, his two sons, to the cross with life’s problems, even the little things matters. Brent showed his sons how to listen to that still small voice to guide them. Brent would tell his boys, “rub some dirt on it sons, it will be okay!” Farewell Dad, we give that Airforce salute, “Flying High” at last. You & Captain Cash can tell some stories now.

Mr. Fowler is survived by sister, Marjan Anderson of Longview, two sons, Craig Fowler and his wife, Jamie, of Henderson, Heath Fowler and his wife, Christy, of Henderson; three grandchildren, Justin Fowler and his wife, Katie, of Henderson, Joshua Fowler of Henderson, Jon Berryhill of Liberty City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jan Fowler and his parents.
