CAROL JOYCE KOTZ

Services at the graveside for Carol Joyce Kotz, 89 of Gilmer will be 2 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Reverend Sonya Meador officiating. Carol completed her earthly journey on Friday, May 17, 2018, in Longview.

Carol was born on October 31, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to George Jenson and Susan Michaelson. She was a resident of Wesley House Assisted Living in Gilmer for 7 plus years. Carol previously resided in Liberty City and was a member of McCary’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She had a loving heart and will be missed by all who knew her. Carol’s last prayer wish was that we pray for the needs of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years, Edward Kotz; daughter, Karen Moyer; son Randall Kotz; grandson, Dean McEvoy; and sister, Gloria Hancock.

Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters; Sandra Burns and son in law John Burns of Houston, Holly McEvoy and son in law Patrick McEvoy of Longview, and Bridget Kotz of San Diego; grandsons, Hal Woods and wife Melinda, Steven McEvoy and wife Karla, Tom Burns and wife Kelley, Dan Burns and wife Tabitha, and Chad Kotz and wife Jessica; and granddaughter, Amber Cummins; great granddaughters, Hunter McEvoy, Misty Woods, Katherine Bynum, Deanna McEvoy, and Shelby Burns; great grandsons, Grant Burns, Jack Kotz, JC Cummins, Ashton Cummins, Randall Kotz, and Reign Kotz; and a great great grandson, Anthony Soto. Also, left to carry on her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.
