Bobby G. Sawyer

Services for Bobby G. Sawyer, 81, of Kilgore will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at two O’clock in the afternoon at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Doug Norvell and J.T. Hogue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Bobby passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at his home in Kilgore surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby G. Sawyer was born on January 28, 1941, in Beckville, Texas to Wilma Edna Amburn and Bernie “Pop” Sawyer. Bobby obtained his CDL license and worked as a truck-driver for many years, until his retirement. Bobby was extremely hard working. He recently started to refurbish a 1953 Ford pickup truck with his grandsons. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, riding his tractor, and listening to country and gospel music. His family was his source of happiness, he loved nothing more than spending time with them. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Shirley Sawyer of Kilgore, children, Debra Bryan and husband Peyton Bryan, Tony Sawyer, DeAnn Miller and husband David Miller, Scott Sawyer and wife Wyndy Sawyer, Doug Norvell and wife Tina Norvell, stepdaughter, Debra Hayes, sister, Bonnie Ellis, brother, Charlie Sawyer, numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was reunited with his late wife, Martha Sue Sawyer, stepchildren, Charlie Hayes, and Cynthia Blankenship, daughter-in-law, Mary Sawyer, brother, Jay Sawyer, sister, Betty Brashear and his father Bernie “Pop” Sawyer.
