Billy Spurgeon Lyles

Billy S. Lyles, 82, of Henderson, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023. Family directed graveside service for Mr. Lyles will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM in Lyles Sanders Cemetery, with Bro. Marty Grounds and Bro. Robert Vaughn officiating.

Billy was born on December 9, 1940, in Sulphur Springs Community, Mt. Enterprise, Texas to Vada and Tiny Lyles. He was saved and baptized at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church as a child. Billy was a kind Christian man who served our Lord. He made sure to say, “Thank you” and “God Bless You” to everyone. Billy graduated from Laneville H.S. as the valedictorian and went on to SFA receiving an Accounting and Economics degree. He was able to work with Nasa on projects.

Billy served OUR country in the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, then 1st Lieutenant then becoming Captain. He served active duty of 2 years in Vietnam and was stationed various places for a total of 10 years.

He enjoyed reading books from the library and loved taking care of cats.

Billy will be missed by many friends and family.
