Betty Owen

Graveside services for Betty Owen, 94 of Kilgore will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2022, at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Mrs. Owen passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, in Longview. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Betty was born on July 9, 1928 in Gladewater, Texas to the late Isaac Philpot and Effie Chamberlain Philpot. Mrs. Owen was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kilgore. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano and bingo. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed by all that knew her.

Betty was reunited with her husband, James Owen and one sister and three brothers.

Left to cherish her memory her sons, Huey Scott and wife Sandy of Richardson, Texas and Ron Owen and wife Cindy of Kilgore; grandchildren, Tiffany Smith and husband Tate, Neal Owen and wife Jessica, Patrick Scott and wife Lauren and Matthew Scott; great grandchildren, Caroline, Gentry, Darby, Jennings, Audrey, Alexis, Ava and Abril as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family members.
