BARBARA MCLEMORE

Barbara Ann (Mayfield) McLemore, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Kilgore TX, where she had lived since August 2017.

Barbara was born November 4, 1937 in Houston, Texas to William Talmadge Mayfield and Delma Mae Hill Mayfield. She had lived in Alamosa CO and Hot Springs AR.

Barbara was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She was faithful in attendance and generous in serving at her local congregations until her health prevented her from doing so. She graduated from Abilene (TX) Christian College. However, her crowning achievements are that she was a wonderful wife to her husband, a loving mother to her children, especially to her most special son, Bill, who lived with her until his death in 2018. She will be remembered for her Godly and positive attitude, even though her family members were all taken from her too early.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, John Amos McLemore; son, John “Scott” McLemore; daughter, Susan Lynette McLemore; son, William “’Bill” Rush McLemore, and her parents. She is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Mayfield; sister-in-law, Kathy Mayfield; nieces, Lisa Mayfield McClain and Laura Mayfield; nephews, Michael Mayfield and Jon Huestis; and numerous other loved ones and friends.

Memorial and burial will be held on a later date at the family’s cemetery plot in Stephenville TX.
