B. Pauline "Polly" Weatherford

Born February 28, 1929, in Buna, Texas, Birdie Pauline (Polly) Weatherford, gently passed away at home on February 9, 2021 at the age of 91.

Memorial services for B. Pauline Weatherford, 91 of Kilgore will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Rev. Lisa Mayhugh officiating. Services will be live streamed @ www.raderfuneralhome.com

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. Weatherford, Jr; her mother and father, Nancy Odella and Tom Reeves of Buna; daughter- in- law, Vicki Jean Weatherford, Son-in-law, Kenneth D. Washburn and grandson, Wesley Keith Washburn.

Polly is survived by her six children, Cayla Washburn of Bullard, Dan Weatherford of Kilgore, Roy Weatherford of Kilgore, Reba Terry and husband Larry of Cameron, Texas, Lee Weatherford and wife Laressia of Hearne, Texas and Joe Weatherford and wife Lori of Kilgore. Also left with fond memories are 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Polly graduated from Buna High School in 1946. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Kilgore and began working as an operator at the telephone company. While there she met and married B.F. and together they raised six children until his death in 1977. After his death she completed nursing school and became an LVN working at Laird Memorial Hospital and Home Health until her retirement.

After retirement she had time for sewing, cooking, birdwatching and gardening when she wasn’t busy planning family gatherings.
