ALFRED “BIG AL” GILDON

A celebration of life service for Alfred Lynn Gildon, 57, of Kilgore will be held at 2pm Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken Davis officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Gildon passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 in Tyler.

Alfred was born on June 30, 1962 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Bennie Morris Gildon and Mary Francis Morse. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and a lifelong oilfield worker until his health declined. He loved to watch and talk to the squirrels and play with his dog, Athena. Big Al was a hugger. He would give you a hug whether you needed it or not. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Otto and Lorraine Morse and John Alvin and Ester Lee Gildon, three uncles; Orville and James Gildon and Bernard Canterbury, Aunt Margie, and a cousin; Terry Gildon.

Alfred is survived by his wife Anita of Kilgore, his children; Jeremy Wayne Gildon of Ringgold, LA, Justin Thomas Gildon and fiancé Jordan Corpier of Liberty City, Draper Scott Davis and wife Michelle of Liberty City, and Candice Carter and husband Morris Dee of Sarepta, LA, his father; Bennie Gildon and wife Pat of Dublin, GA, his mother; Mary Francis Morse Gildon of Minden, LA, grandchildren; Hailey, Ashlynn, and Dekoda Davis of Liberty City, Morris Dee Carter III of Sarepta, LA, and Barrett Gildon of Liberty City, a brother; Calvin Dewayne Gildon of Ringgold, LA, a sister; Cynthia Gail Flynn and husband Tony of Overton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 5-7pm at Rader Funeral Home.
