I am truly blessed to have known Mr. Bass. He always showed me respect and kindness as a past employer, advisor and friend. I could not have asked for a better role model and mentor in this every challenging insurance industry. I will miss his advice, laughter and friendship. May peace and comfort be with his family during this difficult time.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. He was a good and kind man who left a legacy to admire. Im glad to have known him. May the family be comforted by the knowledge that his memory is a blessing to people near and far, to those who knew him slightly and well, and to the many people he helped along their way. Coach Bass was the best. I always loved his enthusiasm and fire. And let me tell you any man that runs in 100 degree heat in full Grey sweats is the real deal. Plus he ran down the middle of the street. I today run in the streets as Dick did. I am traveling during funeral time , but Mike and Mary John , Kerry and Marci take care and God Bless. Tommy McElroy

A loving farewell to one of my oldest friends. It was always fun to be Andrews Street neighbors of the family. My family received many kindnesses from Dick's family, including hosting a graduation party. Our KHS class of 1955 was very special. My deepest sympathy for Mary Jon, the children, and grsndchildren, as well as my friend Martha. May God hold you closely at this time of loss.🙏 🌹

A longtime friend from elementary school thru KHS. To this day, the Bass residence on Andrews St. is one of my favorite homes in Kilgore. In my mind's eye, I can still picture Dick making points for the KHS basketball team from almost mid-court. Many fond memories from days gone by. Prayers for the family.
