Graveside services for Mr. William Eugene Crisp, 83, of Longview, Texas will be at four o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Panola County, Texas with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating.  Mr. Crisp passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.


Mr. Crisp was born in Marshall, Texas on June 3, 1924.  He was one of four children born to the late William and Gladys Crisp.  Mr. Crisp was a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Louisiana.  In 1944, he married Blanche Alvin Gross.  They were blessed with two daughters and two sons.  Mr. Crisp retired from the United States Navy on July 15, 1967, having served in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters during World War II and the Korean War and the Vietnam War.


His two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer N. Crisp and Georgia of Kingsland, Georgia, Larry E. Crisp and Dianne of North Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene Hayes and Larry, of Longview, Texas, Gwendolyn Gunter and Clay of Tenaha, Texas; one brother, Robert V. Crisp of Louisiana; two sisters, Addie Sue Thiele of Mexia, Texas,and Mary Lou Dunkin of Pleaston, Texas; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive him.


His wife preceded Mr. Crisp in death.


The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home between five and seven p.m., Friday, June 22, 2007.
