Services for Ann Wyatt Blackburn, 68, of Kilgore will be eleven a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. William J. Ingersoll and Reverend Jay Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery. A spunky Texas Mom, Grandmother and dear friend with a servant heart, Ann went peacefully home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, March 7, 2007.  She was our joy, our rock and our love.

 

Ann was born June 15, 1938 in Hollywood, California to Charles D. and Ruth Dial Wyatt. She was a 1956 graduate of Kilgore High School and a 1960 graduate of The University of Texas.  Ms. Blackburn was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and Bible Moderator for Circle 56.  She volunteered with Community Concerts, Friends of the Library and the Shakespeare Guild.

 

Ms. Blackburn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Bill Hughes of St. Louis, Missiouri; Reverend Jay and Jennifer Simmons of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Forrest Hughes of St. Louis, Hunter Hughes of St. Louis, Janie Hughes of St. Louis, and Story Simmons of St. Louis; special friend, John E. Blackburn of Kilgore; several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles Dial Wyatt.

 

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between five and seven p.m.
