Services for Pearl “Ma” Harrison, 74, of Kilgore will be at four p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Doyle Ferguson officiating.  Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.  Mrs. Harrison passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 in Kilgore.


Mrs. Harrison was born on September 4, 1932 in Calhoun County, Mississippi to the late Troy and Ora Barefield.  She graduated from Junior College and on May 9, 1952, she married James Harrison.  Pearl and James had five children.  She provided a loving home and cared deeply for her children.  Pearl loved to sew and crochet.  She later returned to college and received a nursing degree.  Mrs. Harrison served in many capacities as a nurse from 1969 to 1994.  She was extremely dedicated to her profession and considered it an honor to provide healing and comforting care to many people.


She is survived by her five children, Vick Harrison and wife Connie of Fairview, Tennessee, Debbie Modisette and husband Joe, Steve Harrison and wife Monnie, Latrice Hay and husband Steven all of Kilgore, Sam Harrison of Denham Springs, Louisiana; a sister, Bobbie Muncie and husband Jerry of Vian Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Pearl was preceded in death by parents and her husband James Harrison.


The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, Friday, August 24, 2007, from six to eight p.m.


The family wants to extend a special thank you to the employees of Gregg Home of Kilgore and Texas Home Health Hospice for the love and care that was provided to Mrs. Harrison.
