Oh, its so hard. He was such a nice man. Haven's seen you in so long but remember going to church with you at Laird Hill. Oh yes, and Doug said to tell you hello and he's praying for ya'll to have strength. Take care and be strong and we will see them again!!! Doug & Cheryl Maxwell

Jo Carol, my heart hurts for you but I know that God will comfort you and your family. Your daddy was one of the kindest people I knew and I loved him. I never told you this, but after my daddy died the summer before our senior year your daddy knowing how close I was to my dad was very supportive. We were all going into a basketball game right before Christmas, and your daddy slipped a $20 bill into my hand, gave me a hug and said Merry Christmas. Knowing my first Christmas without my daddy would be hard, he stepped in and I will never forget that. You had a wonderful father and I am sure he is up in Heaven with our Father having a grand time!! God is so good! and his mercies are new every day. I love you. Donna

Chris and Jo Carol-- I am so sorry to hear about the news concerning your Dad. I lost mine almost a month ago, and I know the loss you are feeling right now. Growing up in the Tidewater Camp, we all felt like one big family. For a long time, I thought Joe worked for Tidewater because we all knew each other so well. My Mother and my brothers, William and Dwain, also send their condolences to you and your families. Mother is 86 years old now, but she remembers your Mother and Dad so well as being good friends to her and Daddy. You're in our hearts and prayers. Love, Diane Villyard Johnson

Chris, Jo Carol and Jody, Sad to say that all the original members of the old neighborhood are gone now. Lots of fond childhood memories of living on Florence street and Bagwell Street and of Nita and Joe. Simpler times and great memories. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Best wishes, Barbara Wise Lewis

Was sorry to hear of Joe's passing, but no more pain and suffering. I thought a lot of Joe. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor and would always give me a wave and smile as he passed by our house in Tidewater Camp when he saw me playing or working in the yard. He was a true gentleman. May God be with you and your families during the days and months ahead. Your friend and former neighbor down the road, Dwain Villyard
